Nicholas Meriage

Nick Meriage is a Principal at Pitzer Snodgrass, P.C., where he focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, including catastrophic injury claims, construction disputes, and other high-exposure defense matters. He represents clients in multi-party litigation and bet-the-business cases, developing strategic, results-driven approaches tailored to each matter. Nick handles all phases of litigation, including drafting responsive pleadings and dispositive motions, conducting written discovery, taking and defending depositions, trial, and advancing effective case strategies designed to achieve favorable outcomes while managing risk and cost.

Nick’s prior experience includes managing a substantial caseload and representing professionals in court, while also advising clients on complex contractual matters such as AIA agreements, employment contracts, and business-related agreements. Earlier in his career, he developed strong analytical and writing skills through judicial and governmental experience, including drafting appellate briefs, engaging in motion practice, and conducting in-depth legal research to support defense strategies in complex matters.

Nick earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law, where he received a Certificate in Dispute Resolution and multiple academic honors, including CALI Awards in Agricultural Law, Insurance Law, and Land Use Controls. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri. Nick is admitted to practice in Missouri and Illinois and in multiple federal courts, and he remains active in the legal community through leadership roles and professional organizations. He has been recognized for his professional excellence with an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®, and recognition by Super Lawyers® for his work in construction litigation and professional liability.
